Dr John C Thynne CB - Non Executive Director

John joined the UK Government service where between 1970 and 1990 he worked in the Ministry of Technology, the Foreign Office, and the Department of Trade and Industry.

In the DTI he was particularly involved in the IT and telecommunications sectors, including the liberalisation of the telecoms industry and the introduction of new technologies.

He then became the Director General of the Electronics Components Industries Federation and later joined the Board of a number of high tech companies, including Newbridge Networks Corporation. His links with government continued through his membership of the Radio-Communications Agency Steering Board from 1992-1998. John is a director of a number of companies including Newport Networks, Enfis, and the Celtic Manor Resort. He was made a Companion of the Bath in the 1990 Queen's Birthday Honours
